Introduction

Since early in life, I have had interest, passion, and desire for designing and creating living, community, and working spaces.  I enrolled in and graduated from Lethbridge College’s Engineering Design & Drafting Technology program.

My goal is to follow these dreams, learn among peers, and contribute using skills imparted to me by instructors and others.  Peers describe me as dedicated, detail oriented, fascinated by architectural and structural designs, environmentally conscious, fluent in most aspects of computers, community minded, and driven & excited by my ideals.  I enjoy discussion, ideas, and criticism from others and believe great ideas are created collectively.

I am pleased to announce that my teammates and I were chosen to represent Lethbridge College for the ASET Capstone Project of the Year and are the recipients of the Award for 2019.  I was fortunate to be part of a research team who shared my enthusiasm for structural design, materials, methods, & principals.  Our Final Project is entitled Bamboo as an alternative to steel reinforcement in concrete.  We utilized methodology and available equipment for creation, material testing, and FEA analysis and presented our findings to classmates, instructors, and industry representatives.  It is viewable online.

I have professional drafting experience that includes use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hand calculations for FEA, and related software.  I have contract experience in home and RV renovations, using Revit, Inventor, SketchUp, and related software.

I have spent most of my life as an instructor to children and adults and, in my spare time, embarked on building projects, including my current project of designing and building a caravan.  Being self-employed for many years, I have good time management skills. Additionally, I have been granted T.T. designation through ASET.
